We are a small church with an older congregation situated in Belvue Crescent, in the heart of Llandaff North. We endeavour to demonstrate the love of God through worship, witness and fellowship with both the local community and the wider world; offering love, care and friendship to all. We meet for worship at 11.15 each Sunday. We foster close links with our neighbouring churches both from the Methodist circuit and with the other CYTUN members.
Christchurch are as follows:
Tuesday Coffee
On a Tuesday the worship sanctuary is transformed into a meeting place for people from the church and local community to gather together for coffee. A good sized group of men attend who enjoy a good time of fellowship together. Cakes and jams are always on sale. Coffee is served from 10.30 – 12.00 if you are in Llandaff North come and join us we’d love to get to know our friends from around the cluster.
Sisterhood.
The sisterhood meets each Monday at 2.30 - a time of fellowship for ladies. We have a range of speakers or a devotional time together. This year we had a summer outing to Porthcawl and a lovely day was had by all
Activity days
Having identified that we have little contact with the younger generation we have recently began to think about our mission in this area and this has prompted us to hold an activity day for children from Hawthorn school .The day was so encouraging we are holding another event during October half term and hope to continue a programme of events next year.
Eccumenical work
Paradise run
Once a month, as part of the work of CYTUN, prepare the food here to take down on the ‘paradise run’ – to take food to those who are homeless in Cardiff.
Holiday at home
For the past three years we have been involved in providing a ‘holiday at home’ for the more senior members of the community. This day is particularly offered for those who may not have a holiday during the summer – it is great fun with activities, good food, and entertainment all provided.
Worship
We join for worship with our CYTUN churches at Harvest, Week of prayer for Christian unity, and Christmas. During the past twelve months we have also joined together with Whitchurch Methodist and Copleston Road Methodist for morning worship on two occasions – both times we have shared in lunch together, after the service.
